Commission Expiration

Your notary commission expiration statement must always be included on all documents being notarized. This can be stamped, written, or even typed into the document and must be placed below your signature and written name. We recommend using the phrase “My commission expires” or “Comm. Exp.” followed by the date of your commission expiration. Whatever statement you choose to use, it must effectively convey that the date you list is you commission expiration date.

My Commission Expires: June 2, 2025

Study tip: When doing the notarizations on the state exam, be sure to choose a date that is no greater than four years in the future.
