Examination

After an applicant has been approved by the Attorney General, the applicant must pass a timed, written, closed book exam that covers the statutory laws and administrative rules that apply to notaries public. The exam also contains aspects of a notary’s duties and practices as well as a general knowledge of seal, notarial certificate, and other requirements. To pass the test an applicant must score an eighty percent (80%) or higher. Be sure to read each question carefully as they can be worded in ways to trip you up.
