Record Journal

Every notarial act that a notary performs must be well documented in a notary record journal. In the state of Hawaii, the notary is required to have a tangible record journal for all notarial acts NOT performed using communication technology and an electronic record journal for all notarial acts performed using electronic communication technology. Since this training is for notarial acts not performed using electronic communication technology, we will focus on the tangible record journal.
