Review Period

Once you have registered your notary bond, seal, and signature with the circuit court you will need to wait for the judge of the circuit court to review and approve your bond before you are able to start performing notarial acts. They typical waiting period is between 10 and 14 days. The clerk of the circuit court that you registered in will advise you of the date you can expect to start performing notarial acts, assuming you do not receive notice to the contrary before that date.

If your bond, seal, and/or signature are denied you will receive a notice letting you know why. You will need to make any corrections needed before resubmitting to the clerk of the circuit court and begin the waiting period again.

Study Tip: Remember who approves your bond
