The State of Hawaii, Department of the Attorney General, Notary Public Program has issued the Notary Public Manual as a study guide for the state exam. While this training goes over the various laws we do recommend that you use the Notary Public Manual as your study guide as the exam is built from this. The most recent version of the Notary Public Manual can be found here: http://ag.hawaii.gov/notaries-public/notaries-public-documents/.

Please be aware that there is a lag between updating the Notary Public Manual and the changes made to Hawaii Revised Statutes 456 and Hawaii Administrative Rule 5-11. The Notary Public Manual will be updated when the state exam is updated. It is in your best interest to check the website above for the most recent version of the Notary Public Manual on a regular basis and right before taking your notary exam to make sure you are studying the most current version.
