Venue

The venue is the state and county in which the notarial act is performed and must be included with all acknowledgements and jurats. To determine the appropriate venue you will use the Jurisdictions as your guide.

The following are examples of the venues for each of the four jurisdictions.

The S.S. in the venue stands for the Latin word “scilicet” which means “namely” or “more particularly known as”.
